Advanced Placement Testing

New AP Daily videos are available in AP Classroom for every topic and skill in every unit. These videos can be used in person, online, and in blended learning environments. Students can watch them on their own or be assigned by their teachers. Learn more.

Students must agree to the AP Terms and Conditions prior to taking any AP Exam. The Terms and Conditions are available here. Students will receive reminders about reviewing the Terms and Conditions directly from the College Board.

Students are encouraged to register for their exam(s) with their teacher by November 14 to reduce the occurrence of late fees. This is a commitment to taking the exam, and the district is charged for any unused exam in May.

The Medford School District will pay for all tests this year. If you have submitted any fees, you will be contacted regarding your full refund.

Availability dates for Digital Practice Exams for the 2023-2024 school year will be posted here when they are available.

Digital practice will roll out over several days. Practicing with example questions in the digital testing app is the best way for students to prepare for digital exams. Students can:

• Try each type of multiple-choice and/or free-response question they’ll encounter on exam day.
• Preview the flow of the exam and practice using the tools and features in the app.
• Confirm that their technology works as expected, including any assistive technology for approved accommodations.

Students will have access to two practice options:

• Digital Practice: A longer option students can use to fully explore the digital testing application.
• App Demo: A shorter option students can use to quickly confirm that the application is correctly installed, that questions display appropriately, and that they can enter answers.

We strongly recommend that all students taking digital exams do one of these practice options. See Digital Practice or the  AP Digital Testing Guide for more information.

AP has built a series of materials and support videos. Resources are available by AP subject.

There is a $40 cancellation for the district for each cancelled or unused test.

Parents should watch for communication (mail or email) from Ms. Bangma regarding the deadline to request accommodations. The deadline is typically the end of January. 

If a student has a current 504 or IEP in place, any testing modifications that are written into the 504 or IEP can be submitted to the College Board. Most of the time, test accommodations are also granted for AP testing. School staff are submitting accommodation requests to the College Board on behalf of our SMHS students.

Watch for emails from Mrs. Bangma to confirm submission of your accommodation requests. If you have questions about this process, please email Mrs. Bangma. The College Board may take up to 7 weeks to process a request for testing accommodations.
